Toronto C Newbury injured in fight vs. Pittsburgh

The Toronto Maple Leafs lost more than a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday.

In the third period of a 6-5 overtime loss to Pittsburgh, Toronto rookie Kris Newbury was knocked unconscious during a fight with Ronald Petrovicky.

After taking a punch to the head, Newbury fell to the ice and was motionless for a brief time. The Ontario native, who turns 25 on February 19, regained consciousness shortly thereafter and was carted off the ice on a stretcher.
