Rookie leaves game on stretcher
Maple Leafs rookie Kris Newbury was taken off the ice on a stretcher late in the third period after a fight with Pittsburgh's Ronald Petrovicky on Saturday night.
The Toronto forward took several punches to the head before falling to the ice. He stayed motionless for several minutes before taken being off.
Newbury was examined at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto after the Maple Leafs' 6-5 overtime loss to Pittsburgh and tests showed he didn't sustain any fractures to his skull or neck.
