Staal in dreamland after overtime winner
Rookie Jordan Staal completed his hat-trick by scoring the winning goal in overtime as the sizzling Pittsburgh Penguins edged a 6-5 thriller against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday at the Air Canada Center.
The 18-year-old fired a wrister past Toronto goalie Andrew Raycroft from a scramble in front of the net for his 23rd goal of the season and seventh in five games.
The Penguins have now picked up at least a point in 13 straight games (11-0-2).
"It's a dream come true," Ontario native Staal said of scoring the winner in the game broadcast on the "Hockey Night in Canada" television program.
