Penguins Building Success From Years of Failure

In the Pittsburgh Penguins’ dressing room, the 18-year-old rookie forward Jordan Staal can tolerate spillover into his space from the news media scrum that surrounds his star teammate Sidney Crosby. But Crosby’s personal effects are another matter.

To forestall territorial disputes between Pittsburgh’s two youngest players, a line of demarcation has been created between their adjacent lockers using a strip of black tape.

“It was kind of a two-way deal,” Crosby, 19, said Saturday after the team’s morning skate. “I’m a little messy.”
