Newbury given yellow light from doctors

The Maple Leafs are taking a cautious approach with rookie winger Kris Newbury.

Newbury was kept overnight Saturday at Mount Sinai Hospital, but more to be on the safe side after tests determined he had not suffered a skull or C-spine fracture.

Newbury was knocked out by Pittsburgh's Ronald Petrovicky during a third-period fight in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Penguins at the Air Canada Centre.

"He is doing all right," Leafs general manager John Ferguson said yesterday. "He will be listed as day to day."
