Antropov sparks Leafs

The Maple Leafs kicked off perhaps the toughest part of their schedule – the first of five in a row on the road – by grinding out a 4-1 win last night over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Nik Antropov scored two goals in the third period and Andrew Raycroft stood his ground with another solid goaltending performance as the Leafs won their fifth in the last seven games.

The talk heading into last night's action was all about trying to win consistently, about trying to get into a playoff spot, then making a run through the middle of a tight pack of Eastern Conference teams.
