Leafs Blow Hurricanes Away In Carolina

Nik Antropov and Alexei Ponikarovsky have often absorbed the collective brunt of disgruntled Leaf fans, who often accuse the duo of not living up to their vast potential. But both showed up to play on Tuesday night when the Leafs took on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Antropov scored two third-period goals to lead the Buds to a 4-1 win and Ponikarovsky played a spirited, physical game, even dropping the gloves to engage David Tanabe in a spirited fight after Tanabe took exception to a knee-on-knee hit that Ponikarovsky laid on Canes' captain Rod Brind'Amour.
