Steve Sullivan: Maple Leafs could certainly use him now

Pint-sized Nashville Predators forward Steve Sullivan was untying his skates after practice yesterday, stopping sporadically to respond to queries about his days with the Toronto Maple Leafs and how his career has rocketed since the Leafs gave him away for naught 7½ years ago.

Sullivan, 32, has gone from somebody who was picked up on waivers on Oct. 23, 1999, to a first-line player on the top-ranked team in the National Hockey League. When he suits up against the Leafs at the Gaylord Entertainment Center tonight, he will serve as another reminder for embittered Leafs supporters -- who bemoan the fact that Toronto hasn't won a Stanley Cup championship in 40 years -- of a questionable personnel move by their team.
