Newbury defends fighting after fall

Two days after he was knocked unconscious in an on-ice scrap, Maple Leafs forward Kris Newbury defended fighting in the NHL and said he harbours no ill feelings towards his opponent.

"Obviously it was an accident what happened out there," said Newbury, who was back riding the stationary bike at Air Canada Centre yesterday. "Especially for my game, [fighting's] a part of what I do and what I get paid for. I think it belongs in the game."
