Former Leaf Coach Proves He's A Survivor

Pat Burns became one of Toronto's most beloved and respected coaches during his tenure with the Maple Leafs between 1992-96.

His blue-collar aura and no-nonsense approach endeared him to fans, who quickly recognized that Burns was always ready to fight, sometimes literally, for victory.

But the biggest battle lay ahead of him, long after he'd left Toronto, and the sport of hockey.
