TheStar.com - Sports - Leafs add pair from Sharks: "John Ferguson bolstered the Leafs goaltending Friday by picking up Vesa Toskala in a draft-day trade with the San Jose Sharks.

The Leafs general manager remained in the Leafs' suite in a downtown Columbus hotel Friday, believed to be working on a contract extension for the Toronto's new netminding saviour.

Toskala, 30, has one year remaining on his contract that pays him $1.375 million (all figures U.S.) next season. Toskala had split time in San Jose's goal last season with Evgeni Nabakov, but has shown the ability to be a No. 1 goalie."
