Young Leaf defenders ready, willing and able

If there's one thing the Maple Leafs have in ample supply, it's promising young defencemen.

Though they've rotated in and out of the lineup this year, mostly due to injuries, the corps of young blueliners led by Ian White and Carlo Colaiacovo gives head coach Paul Maurice something to build on.

Both are pressing for more playing time, especially on the power play, and are pushing the veterans around them – Tomas Kaberle, Bryan McCabe and Pavel Kubina – to do better.

White, the diminutive 22-year-old, sees the ice well, carries the puck with confidence and finds passing lanes.
