Sundin seals the deal
f the owners of the Toronto Maple Leafs honestly covet the lucrative gate receipts at Stanley Cup playoff time, they would be wise to padlock the Air Canada Centre at their nearest convenience. Yet another triumph in foreign territory occurred at Madison Square Garden last night, as the Leafs won a game in the third period for the second consecutive night. A breakaway goal by Mats Sundin -- on a perfect up-the-middle feed from rookie defenceman Ian White -- proved to be the difference in a 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers, breaking a deadlock between the teams in the Eastern Conference standings.
