Weather puts end to Leafs outdoors

The deep chill enveloping Toronto has caused the Leafs to postpone an outdoor practice scheduled for today. About 250 students from St. Elizabeth Catholic School and Bloordale Middle School were going to participate in the workout at the West Mall Outdoor Rink but the team decided it was too cold for the children who, instead, have been invited to watch the team practice inside.

"One of the forecasts was for minus-25 with a minus-34 wind chill," said coach Paul Maurice. "It's not even our guys (we're worried about). We've got toques and high-tech underwear and all that other stuff. But (you can't) put the kids out there. It's too bad, I love that kind of thing."
