Nail-biter shootout leads to Leafs win over Senators

It took five shooters for the Toronto Maple Leafs to squeeze out a 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators Saturday night.

No one likes to lose in a shootout, especially Ottawa Senators coach Bryan Murray. But for Leafs coach Paul Maurice, he’ll take the extra point if he had to arm wrestle for it.

“Every game is a must-win game,” he said. “At the end of it I’ll tell you it wasn’t.

“But we go into every game thinking ‘We have to win this game to make the playoffs.’”

The Leafs, on a run, have now won four in a row and six of their last seven. The Senators have lost three of their last six games.
