Coaching keeps Maurice young
Promoted to an NHL coach in Hartford in his late 20s, Paul Maurice felt his aging process already was accelerated. Thus, turning 40 yesterday was not a traumatic event.
"I think the opposite is true," Maurice said.
"You get addicted to this lifestyle, the emotional ups and downs, the gratification when you win, the horrible feelings when you lose. You get to the point where you need it, to where the summer feels like it's dragging until you get back at it.
