Mats Sundin is 16 years older than Sidney Crosby, and conventional thinking could suggest the Leafs captain is giving up speed, strength and endurance to the teenage phenom.
Sundin, though, is no ordinary 36-year-old. After watching his latest exploits during the Leafs' completed road trip, there's a consensus – at least in the Leaf dressing room – that the big Swede is one of the best players on any ice sheet in the NHL.
While Crosby is wowing the hockey world with a wide range of skills, Sundin is simply dominating physically when he's on the ice. Together with linemates Nik Antropov and Alex Ponikarovsky, Sundin is controlling the puck in the opposing end and wearing out defenceman.
